Hello All
I have recently been notified by our Regional Director Willie Pope that German Shepherd Schutzhund Club has been awarded the 2009 Pacific Northwest Regional Championship. Our club is excited to once again host this event. I have some basic information and will be sending out more within the next 30 days.

News from USA

Mo Weldon

November 14, 2008

Mo Weldon, President and training director of the Western Kentucky Schutzhund Club was killed in a tragic car accident near Louisville, Kentucky, on November 13. Members of the PNW Region offer our condolences to friend and family. He will be missed.

2009 USA Nationals

Congratulations to the Machtig Strom Schutzhund Verein club, they will be hosting the 2009 USA Nationals!

SV Breed Surveys and Elbows

February 15, 2008

USA Breed Warden, Tim Burke announced that the SV has mandated that all dogs born after January 1, 2004 (regardless of country of origin) must have elbows certified by the SV if they want an SV breed survey. They will not accept OFA elbows.

Tim is meeting with the SV office the first week of March to establish procedures so the USA office can assist members in obtaining SV elbow certification similar to the USA “a” stamp program.

We do not have this requirement yet for USA breed surveys. The Breed Advisory Committee will take this under advisement after the Sieger show to discuss if we want to implement this rule for USA breed surveys.

If you already have a USA Rulebook, you will need to order a set of replacement pages for the SchH/VPG rules that have changed.
